How We Use Your Information

In short:

We use your data to provide investment analysis, send property alerts, improve our AI, and connect you with agents when requested.

We use your information to deliver and improve our real estate investment services:

  • Investment Analysis: Calculate cash flow, cap rates, and ROI for properties you view or save
  • Property Alerts: Notify you when properties matching your criteria become available
  • AI Improvements: Enhance Pixie's responses based on conversation patterns (anonymized)
  • Agent Connection: Share your information with JN Real Estate agents when you request consultation
  • Platform Analytics: Understand usage patterns to improve features and performance
  • Legal Compliance: Respond to legal requests when required by law

We will never sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

AI Assistant (Pixie)

In short:

Pixie conversations are stored for 1 year to provide context and improve responses. You can delete your conversation history anytime.

Pixie is our AI-powered investment assistant. When you interact with Pixie, we collect and store:

  • Conversation History: All messages between you and Pixie, including property discussions
  • Property Cards: Properties shown during conversations for context
  • Timestamps: When conversations occurred

How we use Pixie data:

  • Provide conversation context so Pixie remembers your previous discussions
  • Improve response quality through aggregate pattern analysis
  • Review conversations for quality assurance (by authorized team members only)

Retention: Pixie conversations are automatically deleted after 1 year. You can request earlier deletion by contacting us.

AI Providers: Your conversations are processed by Anthropic (Claude) and/or OpenAI (GPT) to generate responses. These providers process your messages according to their respective privacy policies but do not store your data for their own training purposes in our enterprise configuration.

Third-Party Services

In short:

We use Supabase for data storage, Google Analytics for insights, and share lead information with JN-Command CRM when you request agent contact.

We work with trusted service providers to deliver InvestCalgary. Each service has limited access to your data based on their specific function:

Purpose: Authentication, database storage, and real-time features
Data shared: All user account data, saved properties, conversations
Purpose: Website analytics and usage insights
Data shared: Anonymized browsing behavior, page views, feature usage
Purpose: Lead management when you request agent contact
Data shared: Email, phone, name, conversation summaries (on consultation request)
Purpose: AI processing for Pixie conversations
Data shared: Conversation content (processed, not stored for training)
Purpose: Alternative AI processing for Pixie
Data shared: Conversation content (processed, not stored for training)
Purpose: Website hosting and performance
Data shared: Request logs, IP addresses (for security)

Cookies & Tracking

In short:

We use essential cookies for authentication and optional analytics cookies to improve the platform. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser.

Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canadian privacy law, you can access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.

Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the following rights:

Right to Access

You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. This includes account data, saved properties, conversation history, and analytics associated with your account.

Right to Correction

If any information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request we update it. You can also update most information directly in your account settings.

Right to Deletion

You can request we delete your account and all associated data. We will delete your information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Right to Withdraw Consent

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. You can also request we stop processing your data for specific purposes.

Right to Complain

If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

How to exercise your rights: Contact us at invest@jnrealestate.ca with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days as required by PIPEDA.

Account data is kept while your account is active. Pixie conversations are deleted after 1 year. Analytics data is anonymized after 26 months.

When you delete your account, we remove all personally identifiable information. Some anonymized data may remain in aggregate analytics.

We use encryption, secure authentication, and regular security audits to protect your data. Our infrastructure is hosted on enterprise-grade cloud services.

We take the security of your information seriously. Our security measures include:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3
  • Encryption at Rest: Your data is encrypted in our database using industry-standard AES-256 encryption
  • Secure Authentication: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt; we support magic link login and OAuth
  • Row Level Security: Database policies ensure you can only access your own data
  • Infrastructure Security: Hosted on Supabase and Vercel with enterprise-grade security controls
  • Access Controls: Team access to production data is logged and restricted to essential personnel

Incident Response: In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by law.
